While any acupuncture treatment will make you look and feel better, Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture specifically focuses on improving your appearance while simultaneously treating the underlying factors contributing to the aging process.
Each session includes evaluation, treatment, plus soothing massage of face. You may add-on LED Light Therapy during your session.
Cosmetic Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation FAQ
How does it work?
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture includes body points to stimulate metabolism, whole body rejuvenation, and healing from within. This activates deep relaxation of the body and mind. Strategically placed facial points lift and tone the face, while stimulating collagen to fill in fine lines and soften skin.
What happens during each session?
During your first treatment, we will discuss your health history and treatment goals. I will then place the points and allow you to rest comfortably one the treatment table. Most people fall into a restorative sleep as I am placing the points. After your rest period, the points are removed, and you will receive a gentle face and scalp massage to promote further circulation and relaxation.
What is the course of treatment?
The initial course of treatment is 12 sessions administered twice weekly followed by monthly or quarterly maintenance visits. Most people report they have a radiant glow and feel better after the first session. The effects become most noticeable and lasting around the seventh session. Everyone responds differently depending on his or her constitution and lifestyle. After the initial course of treatment, maintenance sessions prolong the results for 5-10 years.
Recommendations for at home care such as self-massage, exercise and a healthy diet are tailored to the individual.
Do I need a separate series of treatments for each area of concern?
No. We will treat all your facial rejuvenation concerns comprehensively.
I have studied three different styles of Cosmetic Acupuncture and have formulated my own protocol, customized to the individual. My treatment philosophy is to lift and tone all the facial and neck structures while promoting collagen and elastin to flourish in the tissues. I also “spot” treat the specific areas of concern as this varies with everyone.
Does it really work?
A 1996 report in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture reported that among 300 cases treated with Facial Acupuncture, 90% had marked effects with one course of treatment. Acupuncture has been treating and preventing illnesses for thousands of years. The efficacy of acupuncture is due to its direct effect on balancing the body’s bioelectric system.
Why should I choose Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture over cosmetic surgery?
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a holistic way to look and feel better without surgery. It costs far less than cosmetic procedures and is safe and effective. No extended recovery time is needed and it provides a natural way to refresh your appearance while enhancing your overall health and wellbeing.
Can I have Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture if I have had cosmetic surgery, Botox or injectable fillers?
Acupuncture helps to speed healing and stimulates your natural collagen production and cell metabolism. We will work together to optimize your results and other procedures.
Botox: I recommend waiting 2 weeks after Botox before acupuncture on the face.
Cosmetic Fillers: The cosmetic-type injectable fillers take about 7-10 days to integrate into your skin’s collagen structure. We would work around the injected area during that timeframe.
Cosmetic Surgery: If you are having a surgical procedure, I recommend non-cosmetic acupuncture treatments before and after your surgery to increase your body’s healing mechanisms. Acupuncture before surgery will boost your immunity, and acupuncture post surgery will help speed your recovery and reduce swelling.
What can be achieved by treatment?
Used as early as the Sung Dynasty (960AD-1270AD), Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture may eliminate as many as 5-15 years from the face. The cumulative stress, tension and emotions held in the face and body are released, allowing your authentic glow to emerge. More than just a cosmetic procedure, the rejuvenation process helps your whole body look and feel better.
Improve firmness of your neck & face
Eliminate facial puffiness
Reduce bags around the eyes
Eliminate fine lines and diminish the appearance of deeper wrinkles
Improve your metabolism
Increase collagen production and cell renewal
Balance hormones and reduce acne
Improve facial color and circulation
Minimize double chins .
Reduce stress in the face
Bring out your natural glow
Slow the aging process from within
Better sleep and energy
Do I need to take time off work while undergoing treatment?
No downtime is required and many people come in on their lunch hour. If you are doing facial rejuvenation for a special event, I recommend completing your sessions 2-4 weeks ahead of your event. For individuals who are on blood thinners or bruise easily, Arnica gel/cream and pellets can help minimize bruising. Reducing sugar, processed foods and alcohol before and during treatment will lower inflammation systemically and reduce any chances of bruising.
Post Treatment Care
After treatment, please keep yourself protected from wind, and extreme temperature changes. You are encouraged to rest, drink plenty of water and eat moderately.
I have posted 2 new yoga class series and wanted to invite you to attend. My classes are all levels, focused on the beginner as well as the advanced student. You are welcome to join anytime, and participate at the level that works for you or you may simply rest on the mat and take a break from your day. 🙂

This is by far one of my favorite foods. Its quick and easy and the lime juice dressing helps to stave off sugar cravings. You will want to use this dressing on everything!
Its best to make the dressing fresh, in order to maximize the vitamin C concentration. But, feel free to store any left over and pour over your curries, eggs, and even sweet potatoes. Although lemons and limes are acidic by nature, they help alkalize your blood and enhance metabolism. Vitamin C also increases your absorption of iron from greens.
A fresh, satisfying Thai-inspired dish. Perfect for Paleo dining, and is also dairy free, grain free, gluten free.
3 Carrots, finely Shredded
1 Large Green Papaya, Shredded. Use Zucchini As Alternate
15 Cilantro Leaves
15 Mint Leaves
1 Handful Roasted Peanuts, Lightly Crumbled
2 Inches Thinly Shaved Scallion, Green Part Only
8-10 Green Beans or Pea Pods
CRAZY DELICIOUS DRESSING
8 Limes Juiced
4 T Maple Syrup
4 T Fish Sauce
1 Fresh Thai Chili, preferably the red kind, crushed or sliced
Olive Oil, 2 Drizzles (Optional)
Large Shrimp, Boiled
Chicken Breast, Boiled or Steamed, Then Shredded
Salmon, Grilled or Seared
Grass Fed Steak (will work fine but this dish lends itself to a lighter protein)
To make the dressing pour all dressing ingredients into a jar with lid and shake. Adjust to taste. I prefer a lot of lime juice, so I could easily use 10 limes. Let this rest while you prepare the salad and protein. This will allow flavors to ripen and extract the heat from the chili.
Shred the papaya and the carrots using a Thai Shredder. I purchased mine from Amazon. This tool produces a nice thin elongated shred, that is satisfying to twirl around a fork or grasp with chopsticks. I also have a zoodler/spiralizer but the papaya turns out too thick and heavy for this delicate dish. Toss in most of the cilantro and mint and reserve a few leaves for your garnish.
Pour the dressing in a large bowl and toss with the papaya, carrots, cilantro and mint. Set aside while you prepare the protein (if using).
Dry Roast the peanuts in a cast iron or stainless steel skillet. Heat the skillet and throw in the nuts and keep shaking the skillet across the flame or burner until slightly golden. Set aside. Lightly crush when cooled. I have 2 granite mortar and pestles from Thai Import Foods that I love.
Cook your protein and chill for 5-10 minutes. Boiled shrimp is my favorite. I recently found some Argentine Wild Raw Shrimp From Trader Joes that had the perfect texture and lightness. If you do the salmon, its really good if you lightly char one side. I recommend rinsing seafood and any meats in cool water and pat dry before cooking to bring out the freshest taste.
In a large bowl or a plate with a raised edge, arrange the salad and top with your protein and crushed peanuts. Garnish with remaining mint and cilantro and enjoy.
